Specialists of Colliery Group "Pokrovs'ke" Prepare Two Dinting Machines for Operation

Specialists of PEM-1 shop of CG "Pokrovs'ke" have completed the current repair and assembly of two EL 160 LS dinting machines. The equipment has passed the necessary inspection and is ready to go to the mine.

The machines are designed for leveling the soil in mine workings, as well as for loading the loosened rock mass onto a belt or scraper conveyor. This equipment is indispensable during mining operations, as it is used both in coal mining and in drifting.

That is why it is important to have a spare reserve in order to use a dinting machine on demand in a particular area of work. In PEM-1 shop, several machines can be repaired at the same time. Some machines come after a major overhaul in the plant, but most machines are repaired using own resources. For this purpose, a team of specialists consisting of three people was involved.

These are experienced mechanic-repairmen Igor Baev and Petro Husak, who have devoted many years to the colliery group and began their career at mining sites. Anatolii Prokopenko has recently joined them. Until recently, the specialist worked at one of the machine-building plants. He is currently applying his experience in a new place.

– At the moment, two dinting machines are repaired in the shop. One of them came after a major overhaul. Our task is to assemble large parts, lay the hydraulics and check the machine before sending it to the mine. The body and undercarriages were completely repaired at the plant, and repairs of small spare parts were carried out in the workshop,” says Petro HUSAK.

Gas welders cut metal for future parts, and lathe operators made them at the request of fitters. Much attention is paid to fastener details, since during a major overhaul the dinting machine can be equipped with components of a more modern modification. And the task of maintenance fitters is to complete the assembly so that the equipment works with a 100% guarantee.

"By now, we have almost completed the assembly. All that remains is to install new filters for the oil feed, sensors, a magnetic station and lighting fixtures, as well as to connect electricity to the control unit and route the hydraulic system. For this, we have special machines that cut and crimp high-pressure hoses,” says Petro Oleksandrovych.

The current repair of the second dinting machine, which was carried out by specialists in the workshop, has also been almost completed. A team of maintenance fitters have carried out diagnostics and replaced faulty parts in the travel gearbox, hydraulic motor and axial piston pump. Power regulators, a radiator, cylinder control units and jacks have been repaired.

In order to quickly repair dinting machines in a workshop, it is necessary to keep ready-made units in stock. This speeds up the repair process several times, which is very important for production during the war. Thus, the colliery group saves not only time, but also fair amount of money.

We try to prepare the most utilised units in advance: hydraulic motors, travel gearbox, pumps, jacks and much more. If a dinting machine fails, we have the necessary stock, which is immediately sent to the mine.

The biggest problem is that there are currently not enough specialists on site. Only two fitters working in different shifts are responsible for repairing this equipment. We have just recently found another person to join the team.
