Power engineer Danylo Myronenko: I am continuing the family tradition at Zaporizhstal

A dynasty of power engineers works at Zaporizhstal's oxygen compressor shop.

Danylo MYRONENKO, 20 years old, joined the Zaporizhstal family during the full-scale war last autumn. Today, he works at the air separation unit of the oxygen compressor shop as an air separation operator. It was not by chance that Danylo chose to work at the plant – he continued the dynasty of power engineers.

"I like this job, it is very interesting and responsible. I completed a three-month training course after I was hired, and now my uncle is teaching me the ins and outs of the profession. This is an invaluable experience and support that helps me to adapt quickly and gain the necessary skills," adds Danylo.

His uncle Andrii, who works with his nephew in the same team as an air separation operator and has 24 years of experience at the plant, helps 20-year-old Danylo to get used to his new profession.

His brother Serhii, Danylo's father, has been working as a compressor unit operator in the same subdivision for 25 years. Both brothers chose Zaporizhstal on the advice of their father and were not mistaken in their choice.

Sergii Myronenko says that employing his son at Zaporizhstal was a well-considered decision, which neither his father nor Danylo regrets.

"During the full-scale war in Zaporizhzhia, and in the whole of Ukraine, it is very difficult to find a stable job with social guarantees and opportunities for development. This issue is especially acute for young people. Distance or part-time study also requires time and effort, and my son is currently successfully combining his earnings and studies – this is another plus that prompted me to offer him a job here," says Serhii.
