For the Zemlianyi family, Northern Iron Ore has become a vital part of their lives. The family's story has been written there for more than sixty years.
This story began with Fedir Fedorovych Zemlianyi. In 1964, he joined Northern Iron Ore and could hardly have imagined that he was founding a family tradition that would continue for decades and unite several generations of his descendants. Fedir Fedorovych devoted almost twenty-five years to the enterprise. His example became a beacon for the next generations of the family.

Every year, Metinvest honours families that shape the Company's history. In 2026, four Golden Dynasties and six Steel Dynasties were recognised through Metinvest's corporate competition, honouring families of metallurgists, miners, maintenance professionals and coke plant workers.
Fedir Zemlianyi's children – Viktor, Yuriy and Liudmyla – carried on their father's legacy.
A special place in the dynasty's history belongs to Viktor Fedorovych. Engineer, supervisor, mining foreman... Over the years, he progressed from a young specialist to a highly respected professional, valued by colleagues for his principles, competence, and ability to find solutions in the most challenging situations. Viktor Fedorovich says: "The enterprise is my entire life!"
However, his greatest achievement is not only his career path, but also the continuation of the family tradition. His son, Vitalii Solod, became a representative of the new generation of the dynasty. As a young programmer, he quickly established himself as a talented specialist and manager. At Northern Iron Ore, he headed the Information and Computing Centre, then the Information System Service Support Department, and today he heads the enterprise's Automation Department. His career path serves as an example of how knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to the enterprise help to achieve significant success.
Liudmyla Solod also made a significant contribution to the enterprise's development, having worked in the personnel development field for almost twenty years. Currently, she is the Head of the Personnel Recruitment, Training and Development Department at Metinvest Integrated Iron Ore Plants. Such people help the enterprise to build strong teams and create new opportunities for employees.
Today, the professional baton is carried forward by nine representatives of the Zemlianyi dynasty at Northern Iron Ore. Working across different departments, they work towards a common goal, building on the experience, knowledge, and values established by the older generation.
The Zemlianyi dynasty's story is a story about trust in the enterprise, about people who dedicated their lives to it, brought up new generations of professionals, and proved through their own example that the true strength of the enterprise is in its people.
