Over 2,000 survival kits arrived at the villages of Kochubeivka village territorial community as part of the Saving Lives project implemented by Metinvest Group and DTEK in concert with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
More and more Ukrainians can receive assistance under the Saving Lives initiative that is supported by almost 90 donors and partners from Germany, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Greece, UAE, and other countries.
Recently, the humanitarian food convoy has reached Kherson. Survival kits have been distributed among the residents of Kochubeivka village territorial community, which includes 14 villages of Beryslav Raion. All of them were occupied by the Russian invaders in March. People had to live without electricity and experienced water problems for about a month. Fortunately, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the territory. However, they still live close to the areas of active hostilities.
Currently works are underway to restore the damaged infrastructure and supplies of goods. Metinvest and its partners provide humanitarian assistance to support people at these difficult times.
– Most residents of our community (which totals to about 1,700 people) were forced to leave their homes to find refuge in other Ukrainian settlements. In most cases these were families with children. However, lots of elderly people, as well as lonely and sick people remained in the villages. They find it difficult even to go to the store. They were really happy when we brought them food packages. We are very grateful for the assistance, – stated the head of Kochubeivka territorial community Liudmyla KOSTIUK.
– Saving Lives initiative does not have any borders. Humanitarian assistance is taken to hundreds of Ukrainian towns and villages that need help and Kherson Oblast is not an exception. Today we are helping villages that were first occupied by Russians and then liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Kryvyi Rih Distribution Centre received 2,075 food packages for Kochubeivka community. This is enough to help provide assistance to everyone who is in need now –, stated HR and Social Care Director of Inhulets GOK Mykhailo TSURKAN.
Since the project launch, Saving Lives has delivered 3,146 tonnes of food packages and emergency kits to Ukrainian regions, including 1,000 tonnes to Kryvyi Rih. Overall, Kryvyi Rih military administration received 15,000 food packages and 15,600 food packages were delivered to Ketrysanivka, Hleiuvatka, Lozuvata, Petrove, Karpivka, Novolativka, and Shyroke communities.
