The effective partnership continues: two energy service projects, successfully implemented together with YASNO Energy Efficiency at the end of last year in Kamet Steel’s Networks and Substations Shop, have already generated over UAH 8 million in savings within just three months.
The energy-efficient solutions were implemented at substations that supply power for the steelworks’ technological processes.
In particular, design upgrades at one of the key substations enabled the transition of all consumers to first-class power supply from in-house 6kV networks, substantially reducing electricity costs.
To redistribute the power supply, a new cable line nearly 1.5 kilometres long was laid, and the existing cable structures were restored in accordance with design specifications. This included the installation of a water drainage system, waterproofing, and a new switchgear cell – enhancing both the reliability and quality of the power supply.

In the first three months of operation, the project has delivered average monthly savings of UAH 1.9 million on electricity costs.
A second project, also carried out in collaboration with YASNO Energy Efficiency experts, focused on implementing a modern technology for direct current production. At one of Kamet Steel’s energy facilities, DC motor generators were replaced with two units comprising a step-down transformer and a converter, enabling to substantially reduce the consumption of active electricity. In monetary terms, the savings amount to an average of UAH 800,000 per month.
"These were new areas of energy efficiency for our company, and they have proved to be successful. That’s why we are continuing to develop this direction and are already working on similar projects in other subdivisions of Kamet Steel," said Yevhen TARASIUK, Director of YASNO Energy Efficiency.

"The implementation of energy-efficient solutions focused on the design and technological upgrade of production power supply processes is a systematic step towards improving the reliability of our power equipment. At the same time, it offers a real opportunity to reduce the company’s electricity-related costs. In just three months of operation, the projects carried out at facilities of our shop in cooperation with our reliable partners have generated a total economic benefit of over UAH 8 million. This year, we continue to work as a team," says Viktor BOLOTOV, head of Kamet Steel's Networks and Substations Shop.
