Zaporizhzhia Refractories manufactured over 95,000 tonnes of refractory products in 2025

According to the results for 2025, Metinvest Group's Zaporizhzhia Refractories manufactured over 95,000 tonnes of refractory products, reinforcing its status as a key local manufacturer of refractories and a reliable partner for the Ukrainian mining and steelmaking industry.

The enterprise's products are used in the metallurgical, coke and chemical, energy, and food industries. The key products are aluminosilicate and magnesia products for various thermal equipment, refractory linings for open-hearth furnaces and basic oxygen furnaces, steel ladles, and more. In 2025, the main product consumers remained metallurgical companies of Metinvest ‒ over 34,000 tonnes were shipped to Zaporizhstal and almost 5,000 tonnes were shipped to Kamet-Steel.

In addition to the domestic market, in 2025, Zaporizhzhia Refractories continued its export deliveries to European countries, particularly Moldova, Bulgaria, Estonia, North Macedonia, and Latvia, thereby ensuring foreign currency revenues for the national economy.

"Our task for 2026 is to preserve the sales markets and improve service quality so that this industry, which is critical for the country, can operate stably. After all, a strong industry means taxes, jobs, and resources for further recovery of Ukraine," stated Artur IVANCHENKO, General Director of Zaporizhzhia Refractories.

In 2025, Zaporizhzhia Refractories systematically worked on equipment maintenance and implemented defect-reduction projects, which made it possible to ensure stable product quality and the fulfilment of contractual obligations to customers.

The Zaporizhzhia Refractories service centres continued operation in Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, and Kamianske, performing routine repairs of coke batteries at Zaporizhzhia Cock Plant and Kamet-Steel, refractory lining of steelmaking units at Zaporizhstal and Kamet-Steel, and repairs of induration machines at mining and processing plants in the Dnipropetrovsk region, etc.

The refractory industry is a strategic link in metallurgical production ‒ without refractory materials, the operation of blast furnaces, steelmaking and heating units, coke batteries, and power equipment is impossible. In wartime conditions, the industry has experienced significant losses due to the destruction of production facilities, logistics limitations, and a decline in domestic demand. Against this background, the preservation and stable operation of Metinvest Group's enterprises in Zaporizhzhia are crucial to support the country's industrial potential.
