Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group, according to the enterprise's investment programme, carried out major overhauls of its main production units in 2024, as well as implemented investment projects in occupational health and safety, information technology, and the social sphere, totalling UAH 938 million.
Among the key equipment renovation projects implemented in 2024 was the repair of blast furnaces No.2, No.3, and No.4, with total investments exceeding UAH 230 million. Similar investments were directed toward completing a complex of capital repairs on the main rolling mill units.
The enterprise completed a major overhaul of equipment for two sinter machines, including the revision of environmental equipment. Additionally, a number of investment projects aimed at digitalising production processes and upgrading IT infrastructure were implemented. The enterprise invests funds to improve the employees' workplace welfare every year: two sanitary and amenity rooms were repaired and two new modular sanitary buildings were installed.

"The main focus of Zaporizhstal's capital investment program is on maintaining the efficiency and reliable operation of production equipment and its treatment facilities. After all, an operating enterprise ensures employment for specialists, exports and foreign currency revenue, contributions to the state budget, and support for the region, among other things. Despite the challenging economic situation, Zaporizhstal has gradually increased its capital investments in production during the war: investments were UAH 500 million in 2022, UAH 750 million in 2023, and UAH 938 million in 2024. In 2025, the budget for capital investments is planned at UAH 1.1 billion, and we have already begun implementing some of the planned projects," said Taras SHEVCHENKO, General Director of Zaporizhstal, Hero of Ukraine.
In particular, the enterprise will carry out major overhauls of BF No.3, two sinter machines, Rolling Mill-1680, Slabbing-1150, soaking pits, and CPL-4 line, as well as upgrade its rolling production. Additionally, the amenity rooms of the steel making shop and water supply shop will be renovated, with numerous other projects to be implemented.
