Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group, successfully has passed inspection audits of its integrated management system for compliance with international standards: ISO 9001:2015 for quality, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety, as well as a recertification audit for energy management under ISO 50001:2018.

Auditors from Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine inspected the product manufacturing technology, the conditions for operating and maintaining the plant’s equipment, compliance with occupational safety rules at workplaces, and all accompanying documentation. 

Auditors from Technical and Management Services LLC, a corporate partner of the certification company TÜV SÜD, confirmed the team’s systematic work on implementing lean and energy-efficient solutions in production.

The inspections were carried out in the sinter, blast furnace, and open-hearth furnace shops, as well as in the hot and cold rolling mill shops and in auxiliary and energy subdivisions. The auditors highlighted the plant’s systematic work on customer focus, effective cross-functional interaction between services, a high level of compliance with industrial safety principles in production, and the rational use of energy resources.

Following the audits, Zaporizhstal was recommended for the extension of its certificates for compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards, ISO 14001:2015 environmental management, ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety, and was also issued a certificate confirming compliance with the ISO 50001:2018 energy management system. 

As a reminder, Zaporizhstal has been certified and has consistently confirmed its compliance with the international quality management system standard since 2003; and with international standards for environmental management and occupational health and safety management since 2008.

It is worth noting that in February this year, Zaporizhstal confirmed the compliance of its hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel with EN 10025-1:2004 (Annex ZA), Regulation 305/2011/EU and EN 10130 standards. The certificate was also extended to cover hot-rolled products made from steels suitable for flanging and cold bending, opening up new opportunities for supplying such products to the European market.
