On 23 December, massive Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure caused a complete power outage at PJSC "Zaporizhstal", a joint venture of Metinvest Group, leading to an emergency shutdown of production.

Under extremely difficult conditions, the plant's team promptly switched to alternative power sources and safely shut down production processes in accordance with the anti-crisis management regulation. Timely response, professional and coordinated actions of personnel, as well as emergency measures aimed at minimising abnormal situations, helped prevent a man-made accident and reduce atmospheric emissions. There is no threat to the life or health of employees or city residents.

The plant has promptly implemented measures to stabilise its internal power system. Production will resume once external power supply is restored.
