Zaporizhstal confirms compliance of its integrated management system with international standards

In November, Metinvest Group's Zaporizhstal successfully passed a recertification audit of its integrated management system, confirming its compliance with the international occupational health and safety standard ISO 45001:2018, as well as supervisory audits for quality and environmental management under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

The assessment was conducted by auditors from Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine across the sintering, blast furnace, hot rolling, cold rolling, and metal products shops, as well as auxiliary and energy subdivisions.

The experts focused on the occupational health and safety management system, the condition of production and environmental equipment, and the relevant documentation. The auditors recognised the extensive work undertaken to develop and implement measures aimed at improving labour safety and enhancing customer focus.

Leading specialist of Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine Yuliia LASHCHENKO praised risk management and new approaches to occupational health and safety:

– The current electronic system for continuous monitoring of measures under the Safe Workspace system, along with employee training through the Stress Test Ground program, represents modern and effective approaches to improving the occupational health and safety management system at Zaporizhstal, which could set an example for other industrial enterprises.

The audit confirmed that Zaporizhstal's integrated management system complies with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.

As a reminder, Zaporizhstal has been certified and has consistently confirmed its compliance with the international quality management system standard since 2003, and with international standards for environmental management and occupational health and safety management since 2008.
