During the first nine months of 2024, Northern GOK, Central GOK, and Ingulets GOK of Metinvest transferred UAH 4.7 billion to the state and local budgets. This amount is double the UAH 2.3 billion paid during the same period last year.
Despite the full-scale war and economic challenges, Metinvest's Consolidated GOK remains one of the largest taxpayers and a crucial economic pillar for Kryvyi Rih and Ukraine.
In the first nine months of 2024, mining tax was the main source of budget revenue from Northern GOK, Central GOK, and Ingulets GOK, totalling to UAH 2.4 billion. The treasury also received the unified social tax, which amounted to UAH 512 million and the personal income tax of UAH 453 million. Among the list of the largest contributions are also land fees and eco-tax.
"Despite the wartime, GOKs on Metinvest remain not just an economic support for the region, but also the largest employer. We continue to implement the veteran policy for our defenders who gradually return from the front to their workplaces. We retrain our specialists and teach our new team members. We adapt and create the most efficient model for mining enterprises at this time. Also, our GOKs systematically support Kryvy Rih and local communities implementing joint humanitarian, educational, and infrastructure projects," said Ihor TONIEV.
Altogether, Metinvest Group, including associates and joint ventures, increased its payments of taxes and duties to the budgets of all levels in Ukraine by 38% in first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023 – up to UAH 15.2 billion.
