Dear friends,
Today, each of us has a clear answer to what it means to be Ukrainian. We are a nation of strong, undefeated, and united people. In 1991, we made our choice: to be free. And over a decade of war with Russia, we have truly realised the significance of Ukraine’s main holiday – Independence Day.
This struggle is hard and exhausting. Every Ukrainian family has felt it to the fullest extent, on the front lines and in the plants, in the east and the west, in cities and villages.
Nearly 8,000 Metinvest employees are fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for our right to live freely on our own land. The Group is doing its utmost to help the army: producing steel products for the front, strengthening the defence industry with its own inventions and purchasing equipment and machinery worth billions of hryvnias.
We are providing a reliable economic backbone. Despite painful losses, we continue working to be a pillar for the country and to support frontline regions. We are increasing our tax contributions, providing humanitarian aid to Ukrainians, and restoring destroyed homes. We care about the physical and mental health of our defenders and their families.
I am confident that, no matter what trials lie ahead, our faith in victory will remain steadfast. For the truth is on our side. We are defending what is ours. And we back up our faith with action. We are already prepared to welcome the veterans back, with thousands of jobs waiting for them at Metinvest’s enterprises. And Ukraine’s finest steel will be our contribution to the post-war rebuilding of our country. Together, we will overcome everything.
