Yevhen Opryshko says, "When you bring a friend along, everyone wins – your friend, the team, and yourself."

Yevhen Opryshko, foreman of the cold rolling shop, has been working at Zaporizhstal for 25 years. Yevhen followed in his grandfather’s footsteps when he joined the plant, and incidentally, his grandfather dedicated over four decades to the rolling industry.

Over the course of his career, Yevhen has mastered nine related professions and has worked on virtually every unit within the Cold Rolling Shop. Following the launch of Continuous Pickling Line No.4, Yevhen became an operator of the pickling line, and for the past two years he has served as a foreman.

His experience had shown him how important it is to have a reliable team around you – one where you can count on each other. So, when the 'Bring a Friend' programme was launched, Yevhen invited those he personally trusted to join Zaporizhstal. In this way, he brought two young and promising men into the team – Stanislav Koptiev and Danylo Shepel. Both now work as foremen. 

"Stanislav is my daughter's boyfriend, and Danylo is the son of a friend. The young men are intelligent and have already proven themselves to be capable and reliable. Danylo is currently undergoing training to become a control post operator for Continuous Pickling Line No.4. When Stanislav and Danylo first joined the company, I acted as their mentor, sharing the knowledge and experience I had accumulated to help them master the profession more quickly," says Yevhen.

Under the terms of the 'Bring a Friend' programme, Yevhen also received an additional financial reward.

Since the beginning of 2025, approximately four million hryvnias have been allocated for payments under the 'Bring a Friend' programme

Programme Details

Employees who help a relative, a friend, or a person they know gain employment at Zaporizhstal will receive a financial reward equivalent to the monthly salary of the newly hired individual. The payments are performed in three stages:

◾ Upon the candidate’s employment – 30% of their monthly salary;

◾ After three months of employment by the referred candidate – 40% of their monthly salary;

◾ After six months of employment by the referred candidate – 30% of their monthly salary.
