The seventieth rotation of the ‘Unbreakable Mom’ psychological support project has commenced for the families of fallen heroes

A group of forty women and children of Metinvest employees took part in the Unbreakable Mom psychological rehabilitation project from the Masha Foundation, which is supported by Metinvest Group's Saving Lives humanitarian initiative. The project was created for families – women with children – who are undergoing a programme to stabilize their emotional state. The seventieth rotation was taken by the resort of Morshyn.

Mothers, wives, daughters and sons of Metinvest employees, who lost their loved ones on the front line, are now learning to live life to the fullest again. Forty of them are from Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia and Kamianske and are currently in Prykarpattia in Morshynskyi sanatorium, where the specialists from the Unbreakable Mom programme are working with them.

"Our guests arrived in Morshyn at night, and even though the town had no electricity, we promptly activated the generator so they could take a warm shower, have dinner and rest. Our assistants have prepared heart-shaped badges with the rotation number for each participant. This thoughtful gesture ensures that they feel welcomed and appreciated They are lovely and friendly people. We will try to do everything to make their stay in the sanatorium comfortable and enjoyable," said Viktor MARUSYCH, supervisor on duty.

The morning is started with exercise to boost your energy for the day, healing water from the spring of the Mother of God, and breakfast at 10 a.m. to ensure a good night’s sleep And then there is a varied programme according to the timetable. The specialists of the Unbreakable Mom rehabilitation programme have a lot of positive experience in helping women and children who have lost their loved ones to continue living a full life and not being alone with their misfortune. For example, Oksana Gurenko from Kryvyi Rih, the widow of Vladyslav Omelchenko, who worked as a crusher operator at Northern GOK before the war.

"Frankly speaking, I didn't want to come here at all. My 14-year-old son persuaded me. Now I am very grateful to him for this, because it is wonderful here. The local nature is just a delight. I had never been to Prykarpattia before. I've already planned excursions for the weekend, so now I'm just waiting. All our days are active. I'm already noticing a change in myself. In the body therapy classes, we were taught to relax, because in recent months I have always been stressed and depressed. And I also started sleeping. I've forgotten how it is. Because at home I managed to doze off for a couple of hours and that's it, but here I fall asleep immediately. Whether it's air or therapy, but it works. It's like I'm becoming my old self again. Many thanks to the organisers for such a wonderful initiative," said Oksana HURENKO, a participant of the Unbreakable Mom programme.

The psychological rehabilitation programme will last three weeks, during which the participants will be involved in various activities. These will be group and individual consultations for children and adults, body therapy, family evenings by the fire, art workshops, beauty evenings and fashion shows, sports games and colour parties, hikes in the mountains and to clean springs.

"I want to thank Metinvest for their cooperation and for the wonderful women with whom we are happy to work. It is clear that they strive for life and appreciate it, go to all our events. It makes us happy and motivates us incredibly. The Masha Foundation has been cooperating with the Saving Lives initiative since 2022 and during this time we have developed very warm and, most importantly, reliable relations. We've made a lot of changes together. In total, since the start of the Unbreakable Mom psychological rehabilitation programme, we have provided assistance to 1,680 women and 1,700 of their children. At the moment, we have the 70th rotation and we don't plan to stop," said Valentyna BILMACH, head of the Unbreakable Mom project of the Masha Foundation NGO.
