Metinvest Polytechnic's Student Council Joins Ukrainian Students League

The student council of Metinvest Polytechnic has become part of the countrywide non-governmental organisation "Ukrainian Students League" (USL), which brings together active students from over 80 universities and 15 non-governmental organisations across Ukraine. Also, the student council has joined a separate unit of the association in Zaporizhzhia, strengthening the youth voice in one of the country's key industrial regions.

This step is not just about formal membership. In today's world, a university is not merely a place where you gain knowledge. It is a space that shapes a new generation of leaders, responsible citizens, and those who build the country's future. Joining the Ukrainian Students League opens up a pathway for students from Metinvest Polytechnic to connect with a network of like-minded people, activists, and organisations that develop student self-government, implement socially important initiatives, influence the country's youth policy, and strengthen interregional cooperation. For students of technical specialisations, it is also an opportunity to express themselves in a national context by rallying around innovations, development, ideas for reconstruction, and modernisation of Ukraine.

"We did not just join the organisation, we became part of a large family where each voice matters. For our students, it is a chance to be heard, share experience, and implement initiatives at a countrywide level," noted Anastasiia TRUSOVA, head of Metinvest Polytechnic's student self-government.

Technical Education for Those Who Want More

Metinvest Polytechnic is Ukraine's first private mining and metallurgical university, created by Metinvest Group in 2020. It is a place for students who want to combine deep academic knowledge with real-world experience at modern production sites. Unlike the traditional "university - diploma - job seeking" model, Metinvest Polytechnic offers education closely integrated with enterprises from the first year. Students undergo training at plants, participate in research projects, and study cutting-edge technologies in automation, digitalisation, and occupational safety. At the same time, they shape their own vision of the engineer's civic role during the war and in the post-war reconstruction of the country.

"Technical education today is no longer about mechanically memorising formulas. It is about the ability to solve real problems. We see that students strive to make an impact, be useful to the state, and become part of the country's reconstruction," adds Roman FEDOROV, future metallurgist and representative of Metinvest Polytechnic's student activists.

In an environment where Metinvest Polytechnic teaches not only a profession but also responsibility, students have an opportunity to implement social initiatives, take part in forums, strategic sessions, and inter-university exchange programmes. The Ukrainian Students League provides an opportunity for everyone to express themselves not only within one university but also at the national level.

For many applicants who are currently considering their choice of university, this step demonstrates that Metinvest Polytechnic offers not just modern education but also an environment where young people develop as leaders, citizens, and sought-after specialists with a future.
