CG "Pokrovs'ke" Bought a New Sanyi Head-Roader

The team of the RZO-2 section of CG "Pokrovs'ke" has completed the assembly of the new SANYI EBZ 260 roadheader. This is the third Chinese giant to replace the outdated equipment.

Over the two years of war, Metinvest Pokrovskcoal has completely transformed its production and adapted to work in difficult conditions. Coal mining enterprises are defence enterprises, so it is very important to maintain the country's economy at the proper level.

Despite the high risks, the company is implementing investment projects. One of them was the purchase of a new roadheader from the Chinese concern SANYI, which specialises in manufacturing of construction and mining equipment.

"This is the third Chinese-made roadheader that will be operated in the 3rd longwall of the southern panel of block 10 of CG "Pokrovs'ke" We can already say that this machine has proven itself to be excellent. The roadheader has a relatively small size with a wide cutting range. When used carefully, it is capable of operating trouble-free for a year", notes Andriy KOLESOV, workshop mechanic.

The roadheader arrived at the colliery group on the eve of 2024 in six trucks. The team at RZO-2 site was faced with a difficult task - to complete large-scale assembly and testing of equipment in a short time. A week later, the workshop specialists assembled the main frame, the actuating device, the rear frame, the main and secondary conveyor, the undercarriage, the oil station and the feeder.

The equipment was assembled based on technical documentation, with all specialists of the shop engaged in the process. Each of them worked on their own task. It was not easy to put together a huge number of components and parts, but the shop's specialists rose to the occasion. Olenksandr Novozhylov, deputy crew leader, was in charge of the hydraulic piping.

"This model is different from its predecessors – KSP roadheaders. It is more complex to assemble, as it has many safety sensors for literally everything: water supply, irrigation, and oil pressure. Each assembly has its proper place. After installing, we would immediately proceed to hydraulic piping," says Oleksandr.

During the assembly, the specialists studied components of the Chinese roadheader and acquired skills to perform routine repairs in the future. Very soon, the team of PEM-2 shop will have to rehabilitate the imported roadheader that was actively used by tunnellers throughout the year.

SANYI's service engineer will provide support the colliery group to resolve issues promptly. A crew was set up at the company to maintain the Chinese mining machines. Each first shift, four specialists will be engaged in the servicing of the equipment before operation.

Despite the wartime challenges and the slowdown in drivage rates, the site team completed the assembly of the new generation of equipment in a very short time and to a high standard. The Chief Mechanical Engineer's service is trying to do everything possible to hand over the machine to the tunnellers as soon as possible. Implementation of this investment project serves as a testament to our unwavering faith in victory. And the colliery group is committed to bringing it closer, no matter what.

"Chinese roaders are better able to cope with hard rocks when driving mine workings, as the diameter of the lower part of cutting picks on the cutting head is larger than that of KSP roadheaders. This allows us to drive faces more efficiently. The main advantage of this equipment is its trouble-free operation. Previous experience has shown that SANYI's roadheaders have not had any major repairs in a year of operation. With proper maintenance and adherence to all recommendations, excellent results can be achieved," says Vitalii SITENKO, Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer of Colliery Group "Pokrovs'ke".
