Northern Iron Ore Enrichment Works (Northern GOK) completed the major overhaul of a 10m3 excavator for Annovsky Open Pit Mine as part of the investment project. Metinvest Group allocated over UAH 90 million for this project.
The overhaul of the mining machine was completed in three months. The scope of work included the refurbishment of the excavator body, renewal of major units and components, and installation of a new cabin and a rotating platform. For energy cost saving, the engine generator was replaced with a thyristor converter. A Lincoln centralized lubrication system was installed to automate the process.
The 10m3 excavator had its test running in the stripping area. The team of excavator operators were impressed with high loading speed and smooth travelling of EKG-10 excavator. Ergonomic and sound-proof cabin ensures low noise level and is equipped with an adjustable chair and climate control. Some useful devices make the cabin comfortable for the operator.
Modernization of mining equipment contributes to the stability of our operations. Northern GOK overhauls excavators, bulldozers and trucks, and buys modern engines and machinery components. In 2021 alone, Metinvest Group has allocated over UAH 220 million for these purposes. Investments in overhauls allow to increase the output, improve the competitiveness of our final products, and create comfortable and safe working conditions for our employees.
