"Speak Up, Veteran": New project spearheaded by Metinvest launched to support demobilised defenders

With the ideological and financial support of Metinvest Group, a new project for veterans "Speak Up, Veteran" has been launched in Zaporizhzhia and Kryvyi Rih. The Zaporizhstal employee discussed his military experience, post-service employment, and transition back to civilian life.

Returning to a peaceful life is made easier for Oleksandr Panchenko by his family, his native enterprise, and his job.In March 2022, Oleksandr Panchenko, head of the automation control department of Zaporizhstal, volunteered for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During that period, the plant was preparing for a forced shutdown of production."When the full-scale war began, I was well aware that my skills would be valuable. Given my expertise in radiation and chemical weapons, I served in radiation and chemical reconnaissance during my younger years. When the occupiers initiated attacks on Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), and later when the russians employed chemical weapons in Mariupol, I felt compelled to act," says Oleksandr PANCHENKO.During that period, the plant was getting ready for a hot mothballing. Over one million packages with essential supplies prepared by Metinvest's Zaporizhstal-based humanitarian hub

Metinvest's humanitarian hub, which has been operating at Zaporizhstal since the outbreak of the full-scale war, continues to receive, sort and distribute humanitarian aid to people affected by hostilities. Over the course of the humanitarian hub's operation, more than 1 million food and hygiene packages have been provided to Ukrainians.The bulk of the aid - almost 800,000 food and hygiene packages was distributed as part of the Saving Lives humanitarian project, established by Metinvest in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The humanitarian initiative brought together ten foundations and NGOs, as well as more than 250 donor companies from around the world. На Північному ГЗК Метінвесту покращують побутові умови для гірників

У червні на Північному ГЗК завершили капітальне оновлення чоловічої лазні та приміщень нарядних у адмінстративно-побутовому комплексі (АПК) Ганнівського кар’єра. Сумма інвестицій на реалізацію проєкту соціальної сфери підприємства склала майже 22 млн гривень.В АПК Ганнівського кар’єра здали в експлуатацію після капітального ремонту чоловічі перевдягальні, душові, санвузли та нарядні. Оновлення приміщень стартувало ще до початку повномасштабної війни, та всупереч несприятливим обставинам північани не полишили задуму зробити побут гірників достойним і комфортним.За час ремонту фахівці провели монтажно-будвельні роботи та оздоблення приміщень сучасними матеріалами. Employees of Central Ore receive training in mine safety

A series of safety trainings continues at Metinvest’s Kryvyi Rih sites. Another training has been conducted for employees of Central Ore by experts of the international organisation Handicap International Federation. Participants learned how to identify explosive hazards, how to deal with them and how to protect themselves and others in and out of the workplaceAfter more than two years of the full-scale war, Ukraine's territory is infested with thousands of unexploded ordnance.
