Zaporizhstal Conducts Comprehensive Emergency Response Training
Wartime realities demand specific skills: the ability to provide first aid, extinguish fires, evacuate from dangerous areas, and assist others. For metallurgical workers, it is also critical to know how to properly shut down equipment and utilities to localise consequences. To ensure employees are well-prepared to act in emergency situations, Zaporizhstal is conducting a series of comprehensive emergency response training sessions. The latest session was held in the blast furnace shop.According to the scenario, the workers were trained on how to eliminate the consequences of a hostile attack. According to the legend, shop equipment was damaged, some workers were injured, a fire had broken out, and a suspicious item was discovered.Participants practiced an algorithm of actions: shuting down the blast furnace, evacuating personnel, first aid for the wounded, extinguishing the fire, coordinating with emergency services, the enterprise despatch centre, and the emergency management office.
