Metinvest mining complex specialists train for emergencies

At Metinvest’s Kryvyi Rih mining and processing plants (Northern, Central, and Inhulets GZKs), a training programme continues for specialised medical and firefighting teams. In October, 50 comprehensive training sessions took place across various structural divisions. Currently, medical and firefighting teams are active in every production shift, with employees regularly honing their skills through practical exercises. These comprehensive training sessions follow a schedule. First aid training, including follow-up sessions, is provided by instructors from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society. Firefighting teams are trained by internal coaches from fire and rescue services. Firefighting team members practise containment and early extinguishing, with the use of primary fire-fighting equipment to prevent the spread of fire and mitigate the negative consequences of incidents. “The plants have a response system in place for assisting those affected by wartime incidents,” explained Maksym SOVENK

Metinvest Iron Ore Plants Prepared to Work During the Winter Period

Transportation Departments of Metinvest Iron Ore Plants undertook a range of measures to prepare machinery, equipment, production buildings, offices, and amenity facilities for operation during the winter period. The night temperature in Kryvyi Rih has been below zero for two weeks. Morning frosts, especially after rain, change the situation on the roads. These seasonal changes involve the transition of transport to cold weather operation. The motor transport shops at Central Iron Ore and Ingulets Iron Ore, along with the automotive shop at Northern Iron Ore, prepared for winter in advance. In particular, they replaced summer tyres with winter ones on all light vehicles and delivered and stored a sand-salt blend and screenings for scattering on the routes used by employees within the shops."For the winter period we have purchased 180 tonnes of scattering material and prepared two MDK combined road machines equipped with spreaders and snow removal tools to keep the roads clear of snow.

Ukrainska Pravda: Hideouts Are Back. Metinvest Launches Production of Hundreds of Metal Shelters for the Defence Forces

The life of soldiers on the front line is far from the comfort of Kyiv apartments. Arranging heating, getting hot food, taking a shower or sleeping comfortably can be a difficult logistical task for a unit. This is not just a matter of whim – the health of defenders and their effectiveness in combat depend on their living conditions.Ukraine declares that the life of a defender is of the highest value. The scale of the war makes it impossible to quickly set up modular kitchens, baths and underground shelters for all military personnel.Structures on the front line must not only serve their primary purpose but also provide protection against shells. They should also be versatile and suitable for mass production, enabling their deployment along the entire front line, which spans more than 1,000 kilometres.Ukrainian steelmakers have undertaken the implementation of this project. Metinvest employees, in cooperation with the military, have developed versatile shelters that are now being weld
