As part of this year's major overhauls of the BOF shop's main equipment at Kamet-Steel, considerable attention has been paid to enhancing equipment reliability at the steel ladle treatment site. Recently, shop specialists have completed a comprehensive overhaul of ladle furnace No. 1 through coordinated teamwork.The overhaul focused on replacing the water-cooled roof of the ladle furnace – a key unit designed to prevent secondary oxidation of metal during heating and purging with inert gas. The quality of processed steel largely depends on the stable operation of this roof. An ecological clean-up was held on Khortytsia Island in Zaporizhzhia War veterans from Russia's war against Ukraine, who work at Metinvest's metallurgical enterprises in Zaporizhzhia, namely Zaporizhstal, Zaporizhcoke, and Zaporozhogneupor, came out to help with the cleaning. They tidied up in and around the workshops and joined events organised as part of the city's Environment Day.Throughout April, employees of Metinvest Iron Ore plants carried out improvement works on plant territories, cleaning and landscaping Each workshop independently determined the scope and types of work and tried to perform them in the best possible way. An international psychological support project for children called Hibuki therapy is ongoing in Zaporizhzhia.The participants of the project are children, including those from families of servicemen, veterans, and internally displaced persons. During the sessions, their main helper is Hibuki, a little dog who loves to cuddle. Hibuki therapy is an Israeli methodology that uses a therapeutic toy – a cuddly dog – to improve a child’s psycho-emotional well-being, which is currently a very relevant issue in Ukraine, and particularly in Zaporizhzhia. “Hugs are, in fact, the simplest thing we can use to comfort our children in almost any situation. That is why the Hibuki toy, which continuously hugs the child while they go about their activities, creates this therapeutic effect.
