Representatives of Metinvest Pokrovsk Coal hold meetings with employees of mining and beneficiation plants of Kryvyi Rih

Due to the increase in coking coal production and the temporary shortage of employees caused by the war, Metinvest's enterprises in Pokrovsk are in need of specialists. Recently, a team of miners came to Kryvyi Rih to familiarize the residents of Kryvyi Rih with working conditions, training and living opportunities in the city.

The team met with employees of Ingulets, Yuzhny, Central and Northern mining and beneficiation plants. Those employees who receive two-thirds of their salary due to forced production downtime were offered part-time employment. Under these conditions, the specialists retain their jobs at the main production site and have the opportunity to learn an additional profession and earn extra money if they move to Pokrovsk.

"Despite the similarity of the main processes, we understand that the specifics of coal mining in mines differ from ore mining in open pits. That is why we offer new employees free training in mining professions. The only reasonable requirement for applicants for a new underground profession is not to interrupt the training process. On average, it lasts up to two months, so you should tune in and be patient," Yuliya Snegyr, Head of HR Department at Metinvest Pokrovsk Coal said.

During the theoretical stage of training, workers already receive a salary of UAH 10,000, and when they start practicing underground with a mentor, their salary will be equal to the minimum grade for their chosen profession. During the period of work at the new job, employees are credited with preferential pensionable service, regardless of whether they work part-time or at their main job. Employees from other cities are provided with free transportation to workplaces, free accommodation in a dormitory, and health insurance.

"So far, 136 people from Kryvyi Rih have been employed at coal production site in Pokrovsk, including 52 Metinvest employees. They have successfully mastered underground professions and are now working in their new profession in coking coal mining. Today, the most popular jobs at Metinvest Pokrovsk Coal are underground plant operators, underground miners, electric locomotive drivers, underground electricians, tunnelers and longwall miners. If you want to join the team of miners, please contact Metinvest's Career Center, where specialists will provide professional advice and help with employment," Marina Poiarkova, regional manager of the Career Center in Kryvyi Rih, said.
