Before the new academic year, Zaporizhstal and Metinvest's other enterprises in Zaporizhzhia will support employees' families in preparing their first-graders for the start of the school year.
This year, 300 children of employees of Metinvest's assets in Zaporizhzhia will begin their first school year with school supply kits as part of the "First Time in First Grade" programme, implemented with the support of the "Rinat Akhmetov to Children!" charity initiative.
Everything needed for their studies has been prepared for the future first-graders: notebooks, pens, pencils, paints and brushes, a diary, a folder for notebooks and other stationery.
"Starting school is an important milestone in the life of each child and family. Metinvest and Zaporizhstal have been supporting our employees at this important stage for many years, and we are pleased that this good tradition continues even in challenging times. This year, 300 children of Metinvest's employees at its Zaporizhzhia enterprises will receive school kits with everything they need for their studies. I wish our first-graders interesting lessons, good friends, and a safe and happy school year!" said Maksym PED, HR Director at Zaporizhstal.
Traditionally, before 1 September, Zaporizhstal also congratulated first-graders whose birthdays are in August. In addition to school kits, they received educational games as gifts. The future first-graders have already had a chance to see what was inside the packages.
"The notebooks and folders are cool, I will study and play. I also got a large construction set as a birthday present," shared six-year-old Tymofii YEREMENKO.
For the Yeremenko family, the company's support has already become a good tradition. The older son also received school gifts from Metinvest when he started school.
"For us, it is valuable support and a family tradition," said Kateryna YEREMENKO, the mother of the future first-grader.
Along with the excitement and anticipation that come with a new stage, parents have quite a few practical things to take care of, including the costs of preparing their children for school.
A mill operator of the cold rolling shop and father of seven-year-old Anya, Zhan Rybchynskyi, said that this support in preparing for school is particularly valuable, as the costs of getting a child ready for school are considerable.
"Today, getting a child ready for school requires significant expenditure, so such support is really important for our family. It is pleasing to know that we can count on the plant's support. For our large family, it really makes a difference. I am grateful to Metinvest for caring for its employees and their children," said Zhan RYBCHYNSKYI.
The "First Time in First Grade" programme covers the children of Metinvest employees in Ukraine and abroad. In total, more than 1,300 children of Metinvest employees will receive support to help them prepare for the new school year.
