IDPs in Zaporizhzhia receive humanitarian aid from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation

"Green Center Metinvest" in Zaporizhzhia resumed the distribution of food packages for forcibly displaced people.

The public organization "Green Center Metinvest Zaporizhzhia" is crowded again. Here, they started distributing food packages for socially vulnerable sections of the population. Currently, humanitarian aid is provided to residents of the Berdyansk community. There are about 10,000 forcibly displaced people from there.

"Some of the displaced have been living in Zaporizhzhia for more than a year. And although this is enough time to adapt to new living conditions, people still have a hard time, they need help and support. And the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, together with the Green Center team, has been providing it for the second year in a row. Adults receive food packages, and children receive candies and sweet gifts for Children's Day", said Oleksandr Balaba, head of the representative office of the public union "Green Center Metinvest" in Zaporizhzhia.

A total of 800 people registered to receive food packages this week. Among them is Olena, a forced migrant from Berdyansk. The woman is unemployed and takes care of her elderly mother. State payments are not enough for everything, so she asked for help.

"The products that are in the sets are what is always necessary. Oil, cereals, canned goods won't come amiss. I am soon to retire, so it is difficult to find a job, and I also take care of my 85-year-old mother. So thank you very much for not forgetting us and supporting us," Olena added.

In addition, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation transfers humanitarian aid to IDPs to "YaMariupol" support centers. The packages contain pasta, sugar, salt, flour, and groats. And also canned beans, stewed meat, pate, cookies. People admit that packages with long-lasting products are a great support for them.

20,000 packages from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation were delivered to YaMariupol support centers in 15 cities in May. Those are Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Kropyvnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Odessa, Ternopil, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Uzhhorod, Rivne, Kryvyi Rih.

In total, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation handed over 600,000 food packages to residents of 22 regions of Ukraine. From February 24, 2022, 800,000 food packages from the Foundation are scheduled to be handed over to residents of Ukraine.
