Metinvest’s Companies in Zaporizhzhia Paid UAH 4 Billion in Taxes in 2025

In 2025, Metinvest’s enterprises in Zaporizhzhia, namely Zaporizhstal, Zaporizhzhia Refractories, Zaporizhzhia Coke and Metinvest Machinery (formerly Zaporizhzhia Casting and Mechanical Plant) – paid almost UAH 4 billion in taxes and fees to budgets at all levels in Ukraine, which is 34% more than in 2024.

A major part of the payments comprised the single social tax, personal income tax, environmental tax, and military levy. As a reminder, in April 2025, Metinvest raised salaries for employees of its production and service enterprises, including those in Zaporizhzhia, by up to 20%, which further increased the tax revenue base generated by the enterprises.

Metinvest Group’s companies consistently rank among the largest taxpayers in Zaporizhzhia:  last year, they paid more than UAH 1.2 billion to local budgets, which is 19% more against the same period in 2024. Despite the challenging economic situation, Metinvest and its enterprises in Zaporizhzhia are additionally implementing educational projects, supporting the development of veteran initiatives in the city, contributing to the rehabilitation of veterans and active service personnel, and taking part in the restoration of infrastructure damaged by shelling, among other efforts.

"The taxes that our enterprises pay today constitute a tangible source of strength for the state and for local communities. During the full‑scale war, Metinvest’s enterprises in Zaporizhzhia have directed more than UAH 11.6 billion in taxes to the state treasury. These revenues make it possible to maintain the operation of the city’s social infrastructure, which ensures the functioning of Zaporizhzhia despite its proximity to the front line, constant enemy attacks and losses they inflict. In wartime, paying taxes is not a formality but a direct contribution to the country’s resilience and its ability to withstand today and recover tomorrow,” emphasised Taras SHEVCHENKO, Acting General Director of Zaporizhstal, Hero of Ukraine.

In 2025, Metinvest, including associates and joint ventures, paid UAH 18.7 billion in taxes and fees to budgets at all levels in Ukraine. In total, over nearly four years of the full-scale invasion, the Group has paid approximately UAH 74 billion in taxes, strengthening the country's economic capacity amid the full-scale war.
