Metinvest Polytechnic’s Educational Programmes Successfully Pass Accreditation and Receive NAQA Certificates

During the 2025–2026 accreditation cycle, four master's degree programmes and eight bachelor's degree programmes offered by Metinvest Polytechnic Technical University successfully completed the accreditation process and received certificates from the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA).

This confirms that the programmes meet national higher education standards and contemporary requirements for preparing specialists for industry, the high-tech sector, and business.

The accreditation procedures involved programme leaders, academic staff, students, graduates, and representatives of Metinvest Group companies, as well as other employers, who not only assess the outcomes of specialist training but also play a direct role in the development and continuous improvement of the educational programmes.

Accreditation of an educational programme serves as official recognition of its quality. It certifies that the programme meets the requirements established by the state, provides an appropriate standard of education and training for students, and takes into account the current needs of the labour market. The university’s educational activities are licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, while programme accreditation provides an additional assurance that the programmes comply with national quality standards in higher education.

Quality Education as a Continuous Process

At Metinvest Polytechnic, accreditation is viewed not as the culmination of efforts, but as one component of a system of continuous improvement in the educational process. The university operates a comprehensive internal quality assurance system that includes regular monitoring of educational programmes, analysis of learning outcomes, surveys of students and academic staff, as well as ongoing engagement with graduates and employers.

Particular emphasis is placed on collecting and analysing feedback from students. The results of these surveys are used to enhance the content of academic courses, improve the organisation of the educational process, and further develop the university’s services. At the same time, the university tracks the career progression of its graduates, enabling it to assess the effectiveness of its educational programmes and adapt them in a timely manner to the evolving demands of the labour market.

“For us, accreditation is, above all, independent confirmation that our educational programmes meet high quality standards and address the real needs of the labour market. Importantly, during the evaluation process, experts engage not only with academic staff, but also with students, graduates, and representatives of partner companies. This enables a comprehensive and objective assessment of the quality of the educational process. We continuously analyse learning outcomes and take into account employers’ recommendations as well as feedback from students, as the quality of education is a continuous process of development,” said Kostiantyn MOISEIENKO, Head of the Education Quality and Accreditation Department at Metinvest Polytechnic. He also noted that, since 2023, a total of 31 university educational programmes have successfully undergone accreditation procedures.

Benefits of Accreditation for Prospective Students

The university encourages prospective students to consider accreditation as an important factor when choosing a higher education institution. In essence, accreditation serves as independent confirmation that an educational programme complies with national standards, is regularly updated, and undergoes external quality assessment involving subject-matter experts, employers, students, and members of the academic community.

For prospective students, accreditation provides confidence that they will be studying on a programme that meets current labour market requirements and provides them with competitive professional qualifications. An accredited educational programme guarantees that students receive a recognised qualification and provides opportunities for graduates to continue their studies at higher educational levels in Ukraine and abroad.

Another important consideration is the trust employers place in accredited educational programmes. Accreditation assesses not only not only the programme curriculum, but also its practical component, the qualifications of academic staff, collaboration with industry, students’ career opportunities, and graduate employment outcomes. This is why accreditation provides additional assurance that the qualification is recognised by the professional community and meets current industry requirements.

Education Developed in Partnership with Business

In 2026, Metinvest Polytechnic offers prospective students 17 bachelor's degree programmes and 17 master's degree programmes, as well as PhD training in five fields of study. Among the fields of study offered are metallurgy, mining engineering, electric power engineering, automation, computer science, digital technologies, occupational health and safety, change management, operational excellence, and other disciplines in demand across modern industry.

“We have developed a unique model of modern education, in which academic programmes are designed not only in accordance with state standards but also around the real needs of business. This means that our students gain not only knowledge but also practical skills that enable them to perform effectively in the workplace from the very first days of their professional careers and to progress more rapidly along their chosen career paths. To achieve this, we maintain continuous engagement with HR teams, functional managers and industry specialists from the enterprises, involving them both in the development of our academic programmes and directly in the educational process,” emphasises Kostiantyn Moiseienko.

The university’s educational process combines a flexible online learning format with practical training at industrial sites. Students undertake practical placements and internships at Metinvest Group enterprises in Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih and Kamianske, where they work with real production cases and modern technologies. Outstanding students are offered opportunities for international placements, enabling them to learn from the experience of leading European industrial enterprises.

The successful accreditation of all academic programmes confirms that Metinvest Polytechnic delivers modern, high-quality education by combining rigorous academic standards with the practical expertise of a major business and the evolving needs of the economy. This approach enables the university to prepare specialists who are already in demand in today’s labour market and who will play a vital role in Ukraine’s future recovery and development.
