New Year's greetings from Metinvest Group CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov

Dear friends,

Each year, the war tests us more severely. Fatigue and exhaustion are felt by everyone: on the front line, in towns and villages, in workshops and quarries alike. Yet we stand firm. We learned to withstand adversity back when Ukraine was left to face tragedy alone. Today, we continue to stand together with our friends and partners. Because giving up is not in our nature.

Our experience is unique. Ukrainians are defending not only their own homes, but also the values of the entire free world. Strength and ingenuity live in everyone working for victory. This is how “steel ideas” are born: solutions that save lives. From underground shelters and hospitals that have already attracted the interest of the US army, to training hubs for the military and protective shelters for civilians.

Metinvest has become one of the largest private donors to the armed forces of Ukraine and provided UAH10 billion in support to Ukrainians. But supporting the front is only part of the story.

We are doing everything possible to ensure that industry does not lose its footing. Every job in steelmaking creates eight more in related sectors, multiplying the impact across the entire economy. And without a strong economy, Ukraine’s recovery is impossible. This is precisely why Metinvest Polytechnic, the Group’s university, is training the engineers of the future.

And this future is in our hands. Every Metinvest employee is contributing here and now through their work and unity. Together, we are a force that will rebuild Ukraine. Because steel does more than protect. It takes shape as ships and skyscrapers, as well as builds bridges, not only of metal, but between people and nations. It connects Ukrainians with Europe, opening the way to a shared future.

So let us continue doing our part in the year ahead. With renewed strength. With fresh inspiration. And with faith: in our country and in one another.

Season’s greetings and best wishes for the New Year.

Glory to Ukraine!
