In pursuance of the approved environmental programme for 2024, the InGOK environmental protection department organized the planting of young trees on the border of the village Shyroka Dacha of Karpivska Territorial Community.
Increasing green spaces on the borders of sanitary protection zones, on the territory of enterprises and in places of recreation for people is an annual practice of Metinvest's GOK in Kryvyi Rih. In particular, this year, at the initiative of Ingulets GOK, a young grove was planted near the reservoir separating the Ingulets residential area and the village of Shiroka Dacha.
"For landscaping in the territory determined jointly with the local community, 200 seedlings of European linden and 200 seedlings of common acacia were purchased. These types of trees were chosen because of their rapid growth, high percentage of adaptability in the steppe zone and good decorative properties. For better rooting, the seedlings were pre-saturated with water, holes were dug, the soil was prepared, young trees were planted and marked. We hope that in a few years the trees will rise and create shade near the water, and people will surely like it," said Nataliia BILOZOROVA, Head of the Environmental Protection Department at InGOK.
In order to preserve the planted young plants in the village of Shyroka Dacha, the employees of the environmental function of the enterprise will organize care for the aboveground and root parts of trees, timely watering, and replanting in case of detection of dead plants. The next stage of landscaping is scheduled for autumn, according to the environmental protection department of Metinvest's InGOK.
