Occupational safety during production tasks is a priority. Kamet-Steel, together with experts from Metinvest Polytechnic, organised two-day training sessions on the top risks of lifting equipment.
The participants were line managers of the plant's divisions. After all, they are the main link between the plant's managers, from whom they receive production tasks, and the direct executors – the workforce. That is why it is so important for them to have technical knowledge of the safety of work using lifting mechanisms, to be able to correctly assess possible risks before starting such work and, at the same time, to correctly analyse and provide information to the employees performing the work.
These are the areas that are covered in the two-day training sessions led by experienced trainers from Metinvest Polytechnic University. During the first, theoretical part, participants gain new knowledge about the regulatory framework for organising lifting operations. Presentation and video materials are used in the training process. During fruitful communication with the trainer, the trainees complete various test tasks and receive answers to important questions.
The practical part of the training, which takes place at the axle rolling section of the rolling shop, helps to consolidate the knowledge directly on the production place. The trainees have to correctly and thoroughly analyse the preparation of the site for loading and unloading operations, and after they have been carried out with the participation of qualified crane operators and slingmen, they also have to make a step-by-step analysis of the operations and draw the correct conclusions on how to improve their safety.
