Reliable Partnership: Metinvest Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Shyroke Community

Metinvest's Integrated Iron Ore has confirmed its intention to continue supporting the Shyroke community in the Dnipro region throughout 2025. This year, the memorandum signatories will focus on improving study conditions for school students and upgrading roads between villages.

Despite the war and challenging economic situation, Metinvest has maintained its commitment to developing infrastructure in communities near the production facilities of its assets in Kryvyi Rih. The Shyroke community has become the first this year with whom the scope of work has been discussed, approved and formalised in a memorandum.

"Our productive cooperation has continued for many years, and the war has only strengthened our mutual support. When people from the Kherson region started to arrive in large numbers, the company helped furnish the accommodation we provided them with all the essentials for living: beds, linens and household appliances. Under the 'Saving Lives' project, initiated by Metinvest, the most vulnerable residents of our community continue to receive humanitarian aid including food and hygiene products. Thanks to Metinvest's Integrated Iron Ore, sections of roads between villages that were damaged by military vehicle movements have been restored, and the crossing over the Inhulets River has been repaired. Last year, the company directed resources towards repairing roofs at the Blahodatne village gymnasium and Lyceum No. 1 in Shyroke village," shared Oleksandr KOKUL, head of Shyroke village.

This year, with their partners' support, the Shyroke community plans to continue improving conditions for children's education. Specifically, the sports hall at Shyroke Lyceum No. 1 will be renovated. In addition, Metinvest's Iron Ore Plants will provide the necessary road surface materials throughout the year to maintain the roads between community villages, as well as supply large vehicles for emergency response or community improvement projects based on collective requests from residents.

"We continue to support the regions and work with communities to implement projects that are important to residents. Despite the challenging times, the company has found resources for repairs, reconstruction, improvements and the development of facilities that will serve the children and adults of Shyroke for many years to come. We see the positive in the fact that these are no longer just emergency response measures, but projects that will ensure comfortable living in rural areas. They continue the work we did before the war: renovating cultural, educational and sports facilities, improving transport connections, helping to resolve water supply issues, and so on. We are focusing on what the community needs most," highlighted Ihor TONIEV, General Director of Metinvest's Integrated Iron Ore .

The planned work will begin in the near future. The NGO "Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future" will coordinate the project implementation at all stages.
