Despite the ongoing war, Northern GOK's miners are preparing to follow the iron ore raw material production plan in 2025. Scheduled and preventive maintenance works are held to meet the plan requirements.
During the quarterly repairs of the LIRGI 552 B induration machine, specialists replaced the refractory lining of the machine's hearth and the water cooling units. They also examined the mechanical equipment in the pelletizing, roasting, and screening areas. Additionally, the drives were inspected, and repairs were made to the conveyor transports of the machine's technological line.
Workers replaced belts in 12 conveyors and restored damaged areas of fencing steel structures to ensure safety of operators.
Pelletizing operators had planned to overhaul the rotary intake during the stoppage for repairs. They repaired the reclaimer that ships finished products. In particular, the working wheel and main units of the reclaimer were replaced.
"Repair works will ensure the production capacity of the machine at the level of 460 tonnes of high-quality pellets per hour. Taken actions impact our performance indicators of the product quality, increasing equipment efficiency and safety for our workers," says Andrii STEBLII, Deputy Pellet Shop No. 2 Manager at Northern GOK.
Altogether, repairs lasted three weeks. The repair work involved GOK's maintenance shop team, employees of several contractual organisations, and workers of Zaporizhvognetriv.
It is worth noting, that repair works on the LURGI 552 A induration machine in Pellet Shop No. 2 at the enterprise were carried out in September.
