At the crushing plant of InGOK of Metinvest Group, a new exhauster was installed in order to clean the air at the workplaces of the first and second grinding stages.

The new D-20 exhauster, manufactured by Kyiv Ventilation Plant, ensures trouble-free operation of the aspiration and technical unit (ATU) and makes it possible to improve working conditions in the working area of the pit of the first and second grinding stages.

With the exhauster, the air is taken directly from transfer units, conveyors and crushers and enters the ATU primary and secondary cleaning system . The hydrocyclones are installed in front of the exhauster, and water is supplied into them. Under its action, solid particles settle and are discharged into industrial drain. The treated air is returned back to the atmosphere. 

Unlike the previous equipment, the D-20 exhauster has more capacity and is able to remove up to 137 thousand cubic meters of untreated air per hour of operation. Another advantage of the new equipment is the improved bearing lubrication system. Here, an oil bath is replaced with a bearing assembly with grease, which is a more durable and economical option.

The installation of the unit was carried out by a contractor under the supervision of  the crushing plant specialists and ecologists. After installing the exhauster at the plant, it underwent mandatory testing and adjustment, which showed positive results.

Current repairs of aspiration and technical units with the replacement of air ducts, exhausters and cyclones at crushing and ore processing plants No. 1, 2 are part of the activities planned for implementation at Ingulets Iron Ore Enrichment Works as part of the 2022 environmental programme. 

It is worth reminding that to eliminate dust, Metinvest enterprises in Kryvyi Rih  use peat hydroxide, internal and external hydraulic packing in mining operations. Special equipment systematically waters technical roads and faces in open pits. Green technologies have also gained wide popularity. 

The enterprises  also water the city streets in residential areas from April to November. In the sanitary protection zones of the enterprises, in the urban areas and in the Vizirka nature reserve, the specialists continue to plant trees and bushes. Only in 2021, Kryvyi Rih enterprises of the company increased the number of green spaces in the city by 12,000.
