The crushing cone of the KKD 1500/180 crusher was replaced at the crushing plant of Metinvest Group's Central GOK. Investments in special equipment modernization amounted to UAH 2.4 million.

The KKD 1500/180 crusher is one of the biggest units of the crushing plant. This crusher handles the initial stage of crushing the ore that comes from the quarry. The whole process of upgrade was completed within 12 hours.

"As a result of its constant work, the lining on the cone wears out and needs to be replaced to ensure that the ore crushing process meets quality standards in the initial stage and avoids entering a critical zone. To replace the lining, you need to replace it with the cone itself. Our responsibility is the timely and high-quality repair of each unit of the plant's equipment for further productive and high-quality work," said Alexander IVASHURA, head of the crushing plant of the Central GOK.

Specialists replace a cone of the crusher every 6 months. The main goal is to enhance the reliability of equipment functioning, ensure quality and stability in the production process, and decrease the chances of emergency stops. Currently, the KKD 1500/180 crusher is back in operation, processing raw materials. The goal is to process over 3 million tons of ore.

The next stage of repairs is the replacement of the belt on the K-1 conveyor. This is a significant amount of work that is carried out every two years. Repairs are scheduled for October, and preparatory work has begun at the enterprise.
