Ukrainian Defenders Receive 20 Million Worth of Communication Equipment and Chargers

Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative continues to help Ukraine's defenders bring the victory closer. Recently, the soldiers of the Third Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received equipment for building communication networks, special equipment for armoured personnel carriers, and charging stations. The total worth of the donated equipment is over UAH 20 million.

The strength of our steel strong military needs to be complemented by reliable equipment. This combination is the key to success on the battlefield. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest Group has been a reliable pillar for Ukraine's defenders. As part of the Steel Front, cargoes of gear, tactical equipment, machinery and special equipment are constantly being sent to the front line.

This time, Metinvest has sent equipment to the defenders of the Third Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to build communication networks: 100 command radios, 100 car radios, more than 200 antennas, routers and repeaters. The defenders have also received more than 100 EcoFlow charging stations and special communication equipment for armoured personnel carriers. The total worth of the donated equipment is over 20 UAH million.

The next batch of aid from Metinvest includes 100 command radios, 100 car radios, antennas, routers, repeaters, more than 100 EcoFlow charging stations, and special communication equipment for armoured personnel carriers.

"We are donating communication equipment and charging stations that will help build a reliable line of communication on the front line and improve coordination among the military during combat missions. This batch includes several items, which are in short supply, such as command and car radios. We have also brought EcoFlow batteries with different capacities, as they will charge all the devices that support the work of our soldiers. We will continue to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces until victory. This is Rinat Leonidovich Akhmetov's principled stance, and this is what the Steel Front and Metinvest are building on," said Oleksandr VODOVIZ, the head of the Project Office of Metinvest Group CEO.

Finding everything that is needed is also a challenge. The domestic market has almost run out of communication equipment and charging stations. To meet the needs of the military, one has to look abroad for suppliers - to buy from the US and Europe. Sometimes manufacturers are contacted directly to speed up deliveries.

The defenders are sincerely grateful for the help, as the units really need car radios and command radios. This additional equipment will provide full-fledged encrypted communications to units operating in the hot spots on the front line.

"The communication devices received meet all our requirements. Using encryption, they ensure the secrecy of communication. Command radios allow making group and individual calls, switching channels quickly, sending text messages, and more. The batch of equipment donated by Metinvest will be enough for a company of soldiers, and even a little more," said a soldier with the call sign "Gray".

"The internal communication system and the system for the M-113 armoured personnel carrier we are donating is a very helpful means of communication. It allows drowning out track noise and performing combat missions efficiently in coordination with the command post. We are also sending EcoFlow stations of various capacities. They will provide the command post with constant backup power," explained Oleksandr KUL, the senior mergers and acquisitions manager at Metinvest Group's Project Office.

As a reminder, since 24 February 2022, Metinvest has allocated over UAH 3.1 billion to help the country, of which over UAH 1.6 billion has been spent on the Steel Front's military projects. As part of this initiative, the company has donated 1,200 drones, nearly 1,700 thermal imagers, 321 vehicles, including ambulances, more than 150,000 bulletproof vests, and 25,000 helmets to the defenders.
