Over more than four years of full-scale war, Metinvest has continued to support Ukraine’s economy. In the first half of 2026, including its associated companies and joint ventures, the Group paid UAH8.5 billion in taxes and duties to budgets at all levels in the country.
The three largest tax payments were subsoil use fees, amounting to UAH2.3 billion; the single social contribution, totalling UAH1.7 billion; and personal income tax, of UAH1.5 billion.
In addition, over January to June 2026, Metinvest’s Ukrainian businesses paid UAH777 million in value-added tax, UAH636 million in land tax, UAH490 million in corporate income tax and UAH437 million in military levy. Meanwhile, environmental tax reached UAH368 million, up 12% compared with the first half of 2025.
Yuriy RYZHENKOV, chief executive officer of Metinvest Group, said: “Every tonne of production and every hryvnia paid in taxes is a contribution to Ukraine’s resilience. Despite unprecedented pressure on industry – from the blockade of Black Sea ports and attacks on energy infrastructure to trade restrictions on the European market – Metinvest remains one of the country’s largest taxpayers and exporters. As long as industry continues to operate, the state has the resources to defend itself. That is why preserving industrial capacity is not only an economic issue, but also a matter of national security.”
For reference, in 2025, Metinvest paid UAH18.7 billion in taxes and duties to budgets at all levels in Ukraine. Overall, from 2022 through the first half of 2026, the Group contributed more than UAH82.2 billion to supporting the country’s economy.
