Over the past three years, Metinvest has been cooperating with the Lozuvatka community in Dnipropetrovsk region. By implementing joint projects, the partners create the conditions necessary for a more comfortable stay for residents, provide various types of assistance to internally displaced persons, and defenders. One of the projects is the creation of a multifunctional space in Sofiivka village of Lozuvatka territorial community.
Since 2023, an important project for the community has been implemented in the Sofiivka village with the support of Metinvest's Consolidated GOK. It involves the creation of an administrative and cultural centre where over a thousand residents of the Sofiivka elder's district will be able to receive quality social services from qualified specialists The project is coordinated by the "Kryvyi Rih Foundation For The Future".
"Although the war has messed up many of our plans, we have a lot to be proud of, because even in difficult times we have managed to do a lot together that will be useful to people for many years to come. Currently, we are continuing the reconstruction of a large kindergarten building in Sofiivka village as part of our Cooperation Memorandum. Once completed, the kindergarten in the centre of the village will have extra functions in addition to its main one. On the ground floor, there will be an ASC, a police officer's office, a headman's office, and an educational and cultural space," said Olena LESHCHENKO, director of the NGO "Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future".
At this stage, the Sofiivka elder's district serves two settlements - Sofiivka and Ivanivka villages In total, we provide services to 1,062 people here. Thanks to the fruitful cooperation between Metinvest and Lozuvatka village council, the villagers will soon be able to receive a range of social services in a more efficient and comfortable way. Just as it is in cities," says Nadiia ZINCHENKO, head of the Sofiivka elder's district of the Lozuvatka village council.
For its part, the Lozuvatka community will arrange the territory adjacent to the multifunctional space. For the convenience of visitors, benches and garbage containers will be installed, flower beds will be arranged, trees will be planted, and the alley will be paved with paving slabs.
Repair work at this location is at its final stage. The roof of the kindergarten building has been replaced and has already been tested for durability by heavy rain. The premises of the multifunctional space have been renovated, windows replaced, and the heating system reconstructed. The front of the future administrative and cultural centre also looks modern. There is a ramp, and the adjacent road will soon be paved with asphalt. Metinvest also contributed to the renovation of the shelter located in the centre. Community representatives say the residents are looking forward to the opening of the space.
