Metinvest has handed over a new batch of radio-electronic protection systems to the National Guard

As part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front initiative, Metinvest Group has supplied National Guard units engaged in combat missions on the front line with communication and protection equipment. The total value of these deliveries amounts to approximately UAH30.8 mln.

The military received sets of secure communication and radio-electronic protection systems, trunked radio communication equipment (both portable and on-board stations), repeaters to extend coverage, as well as measuring devices for network diagnostics (antenna and cable analysers). The company does not disclose the models or technical specifications of its equipment for security reasons. At the same time, the company emphasises that, taken as a whole, it constitutes an integrated system of communication and protection that keeps the unit connected even under intense enemy electronic warfare, accelerates the decision-making cycle, and reduces casualties.

"Our task is not merely to deliver equipment, but to provide solutions that genuinely work in the field. These units enhance secure communications, help counter hostile electronic warfare, and ensure the autonomy of units in areas without access to power grids. This is about effectiveness and about the lives of people who risk themselves every day," commented Oleksandr VODOVIZ, Head of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer of Metinvest Group.

The equipment integrates functions of enhanced and secure communication, elements of electronic protection, and power supply. It is capable of operating across a wide frequency range, ensuring a stable communication channel in combat zones where conventional means often fail. Thanks to powerful power sources, these systems are capable of operating for extended periods without recharging, thereby ensuring continuous coordination between units.

"In modern warfare, reliable communication is as much a weapon as any other form of armament. When the enemy attempts to jam communication channels and disrupt coordination between units, it is precisely such systems that enable us to remain connected and coordinate actions without delay. The provision of these systems represents genuine support for the front line, delivering the essential solutions we need – solutions that are effective on the battlefield," emphasises a representative of the National Guard unit.

The transfer was carried out as part of a comprehensive assistance programme, as part of which SCM enterprises, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, and FC Shakhtar have already allocated over UAH 12.8 bln to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, veterans, and the civilian population.
