Metinvest donated 33 cars for the National Guard for UAH 20.7 million

As part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front defence initiative, Metinvest Group continues to strengthen the mobility of Ukrainian military units on the front line. This time, the company handed over 33 cars to the brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine – pickups and non-road vehicles – with a total value of UAH 20.7 million.

The cars were purchased throughout Europe - these are mainly off-road vehicles that have already shown themselves in combat conditions. Among the donated models are Mitsubishi L200, Volkswagen Amarok, VW Transporter and others. Some of the cars are equipped with additional protective equipment and reinforced chassis.

"We are grateful for the aid. Cars are not only about logistics. This is an opportunity to rescue the wounded, quickly move between positions, and support hostilities in difficult conditions," said the representative of the brigade.

The vehicles are handed over taking into consideration the needs of the brigade: some of the vehicles are already on combat missions, the rest are undergoing retrofitting.

"For Metinvest and Steel Front, this is a systematic work – we provide the military with transport, electronic warfare equipment, shelters, drones and other equipment on a regular basis. This batch of vehicles is another step in this support strategy," said Oleksandr VODOVIZ, Head of the CEO's Office of Metinvest Group.

Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front is a large-scale program to support the Ukrainian military, implemented by SCM companies, including Metinvest. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, as part of the initiative, the Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies have received equipment, armor plating, shelters, medical equipment, drones, and communications equipment worth hundreds of millions of hryvnias.
