Metinvest helps Hleiuvatka community improve infrastructure in villages

During the war, the Consolidated iron ore mining and processing plant of Metinvest continue to support the Hleiuvatka territorial community in developing the infrastructure of remote villages. This year, Metinvest applied funds towards the reconstruction of the outpatient clinic territory, running repair of damaged road sections, re-roofing of the kindergarten and gymnasium, and helped to provide water supply at reduced rates for the residents of Hleiuvatka community. The implementation of projects are coordinated by NGO "Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future."

This year, Kryvyi Rih mining and processing plants of Metinvest and Hleiuvatka village council in Dnipropetrovsk region signed a memorandum of cooperation a fifth time. The document confirms the parties' readiness to implement joint projects aimed at social and economic development of villages and towns. By joining forces, the partners are working to improve the living conditions of community residents and provide them with the opportunity to receive the necessary services in their localities.

"Metinvest Group's mining and processing plants and Hleiuvatka community have been building a fruitful partnership since 2019. When determining the areas of work that require attention, we always listen to public opinion. Repairs of administrative buildings and facilities providing various social services, roads, water supply are the most frequently requested areas of support and funding. I am confident that the challenge of difficult times will make our partnership even stronger and more responsible," said Andrii SHCHERBAK, Director of Human Resources and Social Issues at Metinvest mining and processing plants.

One of the priorities for the development of the Hleiuvatka territorial community is to provide accessible and high-quality medical care to residents. In 2023, a large-scale reconstruction of a general practice outpatient clinic began in one of the community's villages upon an initiative of the councilmen. This year, Metinvest also joined the project. With the company's support, the territory adjacent to the healthcare facility is being improved. As part of the work, curb stones has already been laid, and the asphalting of access roads and parking spaces is in the final stages. An important part of the project is the arrangement of steps for comfortable and safe access to the medical facility. For its part, the Hleiuvatka community is arranging locations where trees and flowers will be planted in the future. It is planned that the landscaping work will be completed by the end of the year.

"This outpatient clinic will serve three settlements of the prefecture, which is almost 1,400 residents of our community. The construction work has already been completed. We still have to install a solid fuel boiler, bring in medical equipment and furniture. A family doctor and support staff will work here. We also plan to open a physiotherapy room. As you can see, if we cooperate with large enterprises, we can implement more high-quality social projects for our residents. This changes life in the villages for the better," said Dmytro HUREEV, First Deputy Head of Hleiuvatka Village Council.
