Employees of Ingulets Iron Ore participated in energy management training. This is a periodic training initiative, conducted in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 50001:2018. Eleven employees of the enterprise enrolled in the course as participants.
The training was conducted pursuant to an agreement concluded with the Intersectoral Scientific and Production Complex 'Research Institute of Applied Electronics'.
The course was designed to train energy management system auditors, with particular emphasis on the planning and conduct of audits under martial law conditions. The specialists refreshed their knowledge and skills in collecting, analysing, and systematising energy consumption data, identifying inefficient areas, and developing and implementing targeted measures to optimise energy use.
"The energy management system of Metinvest Iron Ore Plants is certified in accordance with the international standard ISO 50001:2018. Training in this area is aimed at ensuring the efficient use of fuel and energy resources at the enterprise. Upon completion of the course, the participants will be better equipped to manage production processes effectively and precisely, in order to achieve and maintain optimal indicators of energy consumption and the cost of consumed energy types, which form part of the production cost," explained Maksym STRILETS, Head of the Energy Management Department at Metinvest Iron Ore Plants.

Each participant received an internationally recognised certificate of professional development upon successfully passing the final assessments.
"Our key objective as energy managers is to optimise energy consumption volumes and enhance the efficiency of resource utilisation. The training we undergo on a regular basis helps us stay up to date with current requirements and methodologies, enabling us to ensure the rational use of resources across the workshops. This enhances the overall energy efficiency of the enterprise, positively influences production costs, and consequently strengthens the competitiveness of the Iron Ore Plants," noted Serhii BUKSMAN, Deputy Head of OBP-2 for Engineering and a participant of the course.
It is worth noting that Ingulets Iron Ore was one of the first enterprises within Metinvest Group whose energy management system was certified in 2013 in accordance with the international standard.
