Metinvest Enterprises in Zaporizhzhia Paid Almost UAH 1.6 Billion in Taxes

In the first half of 2026, Metinvest's enterprises in Zaporizhzhia, namely Zaporizhstal, Zaporizhcoke, Zaporizhzhia Refractories and Metinvest Machinery, paid almost UAH 1.6 billion in taxes and levies to budgets at all levels.

The single social tax, personal income tax, environmental tax, and military levy traditionally account for the largest shares of these payments. Thus, a large portion of taxes paid by enterprises is directly related to employment and the preservation of jobs in the region.

"Zaporizhstal is in extremely challenging conditions: hostile attacks led to a long-term shutdown of the enterprise. Recovery will not be easy or quick; however, we have an even greater challenge before us: the blockade of the ports of Greater Odesa, which is not simply affecting logistics and exports. This crisis also confronts us with an undeniable fact: without the ability to produce and sell our products, Ukrainian metallurgy in particular, and domestic export-oriented manufacturers in general, will not be able to fulfil their role as the country's economic backbone – providing jobs, paying taxes, supporting foreign exchange earnings, and financing the state's resilience amid the war," said Taras SHEVCHENKO, Acting General Director of Zaporizhstal.

Metinvest is the No. 1 taxpayer in the Zaporizhzhia region. From January to June, local budgets received more than UAH 470 million from Metinvest's enterprises in Zaporizhzhia. For the regional capital, it means a contribution to the resilience of the city itself and the entire region, enabling it to finance critically important sectors and support the viability of frontline communities located 20 kilometres from the combat line.

In July 2026, Metinvest raised salaries for employees of Ukrainian enterprises by 10%. This decision was another step in supporting employees and their families.

Building on principles of social partnership and the sustainable development of regions where Metinvest operates, the Company, together with its enterprises, implements important social initiatives – from educational and veterans' programmes to participating in the recovery of infrastructure damaged by shelling.

As a reminder, Metinvest's enterprises in Zaporizhzhia paid almost UAH 4 billion in taxes to the Ukrainian budget in 2025. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, total tax payments have exceeded UAH 13 billion.

Taking into account associated and joint ventures, Metinvest paid UAH 8.5 billion in taxes to the Ukrainian budget in the first half of 2026. In total, for more than four years of the full-scale invasion (from 2022 to the first half of 2026), Metinvest Groups has directed over UAH 82.2 billion to support Ukraine's economy.
