From Kamet-Steel to the American Continent: Blast Furnace Workers Resume Pig Iron Exports

After a break of over six months, Kamet-Steel has resumed pig iron production for foreign customers. Pig iron production at the casting machine area of the blast furnace shop has been restarted to fulfil orders from North American clients. This is a promising program with systematic product shipments planned to continue into 2025.

The first shipments of pig iron for overseas customers were dispatched from Kamet-Steel in November This followed intensive team efforts to prepare the casting machine equipment for resumed production and ensure the area was staffed with qualified personnel.

Denis PINCHUK, Head of Blast Furnace Shop:

"Two casting machines work stably at the site to fulfill the order. We thoroughly tested, inspected, and maintained the equipment in advance using our blast furnace shop's maintenance team. We paid special attention to renovating the moulds - the containers used for forming pig iron ingots. We also focused on training and professional development of our process personnel, particularly the recently hired employees. Thanks to this teamwork, we are following our operational pig iron production plan and aim to ship 17,000 tonnes of high-quality Kamet-Steel ingots to our American customers in November."
