For the second time since the beginning of the year, Metinvest's Central GOK youth donated blood for defenders

Young specialists of the Central Iron Ore Enrichment Works joined the volunteer campaign of the Kryvyi Rih Blood Transfusion Station "Give Blood – Save Lives!".

Today, donated blood is a crucial resource for treating the sick and wounded people. A particularly important group of recipients is the military in need of emergency medical care. Doctors say that nowadays, especially, there is not much donor blood.

That is why the youth of Metinvest's Kryvyi Rih enterprises, including the Central Iron Ore Enrichment Works, are actively involved in volunteer programmes related to donation. Some help organise the campaigns, while others donate blood. Today, not everyone is able to help financially, and blood donation is more than just money, participants say.

After the event, many of the youth activists of the Central Iron Ore Enrichment Works decided to donate blood on a regular basis.

"I donated blood for the first time. I've been planning to do it for a long time, but I didn't dare. This time, when I found out that a group of volunteers was being organised at the enterprise, I immediately signed up. I really hope that my blood will help save someone's life. I have decided that from now on I will definitely take part in such events," said Nataliia LEPSKA, economist at the Central GOK's technical power supply shop.

The administration of the Kryvyi Rih blood transfusion station expressed its gratitude to the management and the Youth Union of Central GOK and all volunteers for their active and systematic participation in the campaigns.

"This is my fourth time participating. I know that the situation with the shortage of blood donors is very serious, and among those in need there are many children suffering from cancer and victims of military operations. It is not difficult for me to spend 10 minutes donating blood, and it can save someone's life. We need to show compassion, especially in such a difficult time as this, when many Ukrainians need any support, especially blood donor support," said Liliia KOMAROVA, chief specialist of the central plant laboratory at Central GOK.
