Just as a small sapling grows into a big tree, so first-graders turn into graduates unnoticed for teachers and parents. Therefore, it is extremely important to teach children to love nature and do good deeds for their country from an early age.
Kamet Steel, together with Green Center of Metinvest, donated young fir, viburnum, rowan and catalpa saplings to two educational institutions in the city - Anatoliy Lygun Technical Lyceum and Lyceum of New Information Technologies No. 2 on the left bank.
Students and teachers eagerly joined in the beautification of their school grounds. They decorated the yards with trees and shrubs and enjoyed the teamwork.
– We were approached by the parents of 5-B grade children and offered to plant trees and shrubs on the territory of our school. This idea was supported by Kamet Steel together with Green Center of Metinvest, for which we are very grateful! We are very pleased that we had the opportunity to join such a creative environmental initiative. This is our joint contribution to the victory. Moreover, gardening is a good psychological relaxation for children in difficult times for the country, - Irina KOMAROVA, director of the Lyceum of Information Technologies, said
All the necessary gardening tools were at hand, so the young gardeners worked hard and with excellent results - 89 trees and bushes. They carefully planted and watered them, realizing the importance of their work.
– I was happy to take part in the green campaign on the territory of our school. It is great that we, teenagers, are involved in it. This is our common contribution to the greening of our hometown, because the issue of ecology is extremely important for Kamianske. In addition, we have acquired basic gardening skills that will be useful to us in the future. Metinvest is great! -Daria BEREZHNA, an 11th grade student, shared her opinion.
Sergei DENISOV, a 5th grade student, planted his first tree in his life:
– Trees produce oxygen, which people breathe, and they also decorate our school. It will be interesting to see what the sapling I planted will look like in a few years when I graduate from the lyceum.
A total of 258 saplings were planted in the city in the fall. Read more about how Metinvest helps to make Kamianske green and comfortable here.
