The Saving Lives humanitarian project, created by Metinvest Group in coordination with Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, has supported students, teachers and staff of Mariupol State University, which is now based in Kyiv.
Since the beginning of the war, the Saving Lives humanitarian project has been providing food to internally displaced people, vulnerable people, and residents of the frontline and de-occupied territories. Recently, Mariupol State University (MSU) requested assistance. Due to the occupation of the city by the Azov sea, the university is currently located in Kyiv. To support students, teachers and staff at a time of great difficulty for Ukraine, Metinvest donated 600 packages of long-term storage products to the humanitarian center of MSU. They have already been distributed to the recipients.
- The Humanitarian Center of Mariupol State University has been successfully operating for seven months. Thanks to the reliable support of the Saving Lives project, created by Metinvest in coordination with Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, we are able to provide the necessary assistance to Mariupol residents who have become internally displaced. Among them are the staff, teachers and students of our university. On behalf of the entire academic family, I want to thank you for your contribution to a noble cause! We are proud to do good things together with you, - Mykola TROFIMENKO, Rector of Mariupol State University, said.
This is not the first time that Saving Lives helps MSU. Earlier, representatives of the university received 500 food packages. But the support is not limited to food. Last year, thanks to a humanitarian project, three female students of the university were able to present their video about Russian crimes against civilians in Mariupol at the Beilive Film Festival in Verona, Italy. The girls are convinced that it is necessary to talk about Mariupol wherever possible.
You can watch the students' video on YouTube.
Since the beginning of the war, the number of people who have received help from Saving Lives has already exceeded 400 thousand people. The geography of the delivery of food, hygiene products and other essentials covers 70 communities in different parts of Ukraine.
