Zaporizhzhia Students and Graduates Attend Career Forum

Young people from Zaporizhzhia talked to successful manufacturers, managers, and businessmen.

Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic has held an open day for applicants. The speakers of the forum included top manufacturers, managers, businessmen, and opinion leaders. During the Career Forum, the forum guests revealed the secrets of professional growth to young people and spoke about the prospects for building a career for young professionals in Ukraine.

In particular, Roman Slobodianiuk, General Director of Zaporizhstal, paid great attention to the skills in the industrial and engineering sectors that should be developed. The steel industry professional told how much technical education is in demand today, how to find a job and build a tech career in Ukraine, and more. Once an engineering student and now the director of the metallurgical giant, he referred to his own career history to show how young professionals can utilise their talents in the industrial sector.

"Although the country is currently at war, victory is always followed by great reconstruction and recovery. We will not only rebuild cities, but also help the economy recover. And it is the industry that forms the backbone of the Ukrainian economy. As such, today we need to make sure that we have professionals who will help the country to make the path to recovery with their knowledge, engineering talents, and creative solutions," said Roman Slobodianiuk.

Roman Slobodianiuk's life rules - hard work, continuous self-education, and curiosity - motivated Dmytro, who is planning to enter Polytechnic.

"I was very interested to learn about the life path of this person. He is an influential professional and experienced manager who heads one of the largest enterprises in Zaporizhzhia. So I listened to him with great deal of enthusiasm and asked questions. I am interested in this topic and I listened to his simple but very effective advice on self-development, because in the future I really want to reach such heights myself," said Dmitro Shaber.
