Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front has handed over electronic warfare for the National Guard for UAH 29 mln

As part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative, Metinvest handed over a complex batch of electronic warfare equipment worth UAH 29 mln to a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.

The supply covers several levels of protection against enemy drones at once and has become one of the largest targeted contributions of the project in the area of electronic warfare in recent months.

The handed-over equipment allows the unit to cover key areas – from forward positions to rear fortifications – and jam the control signals of enemy drones at different frequencies. This allows protecting both personnel and equipment from attacks.

Among the equipment handed over to the brigade are dozens of Sinitsa 3.5K electronic warfare systems. These stations are designed to create local radio jamming zones and destroy FPV drone control channels. According to the military, Sinitsa effectively works autonomously and is suitable for deployment in both stationary and mobile positions.

The commander of the unit who received the equipment says that its effectiveness is already being apparent:

"An FPV drone is not just a threat. This is a projectile with eyes that hunts for a thermal trail. And this technique is like an invisible hat. And it saves lives every day. "

The Steel Front confirms that requests for electronic warfare from the front are becoming more and more frequent.

"Modern warfare is a battle of technology. And we cannot allow our soldiers to lose it in the air. That is why we are increasing support in this area," said Oleksandr VODOVIZ, Head of Metinvest Group CEO Office.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Steel Front military initiative has already handed over more than 7 ths drones, 6 ths means of communication, hundreds of shelters, equipment, armoured boats, mine trawls to the Defence Forces, and also launched the production of protective screens for Abrams and Bradley tanks. The total amount of the assistance to the army from Rinat Akhmetov's businesses has exceeded UAH 11.3 bln.
