Ukraine’s first private mining and metallurgical university, Metinvest Polytechnic, has celebrated the graduation of 124 master’s degree students. The graduates completed their studies, successfully defended their theses, and received diplomas – 26 of which were awarded with honours. In Kryvyi Rih, diplomas were awarded to 23 employees of Inhulets Iron Ore, Central Iron Ore, Northern Iron Ore, and Southern Iron Ore. An investment project to modernize the electrical equipment of Continuous Casting Machine No. 2 (CCM-2) has been successfully completed in the BOF shop of Kamet Steel.The reconstruction was carried out in two stages. Last year, new frequency converters were installed on the first, second, and third strands of the machine. Recently, specialists completed the second stage by upgrading the equipment of the fourth, fifth, and sixth strands. In parallel, the automation system of CCM-2 was also replaced.The key objective of the project was to ensure the reliable operation of the electrical equipment and the automated process control system of CCM-2. The first vessel (since 2025) carrying US coking coal chartered by Metinvest gas arrived in Ukraine. The bulk carrier Bison delivered 80,000 tonnes of coal from the Group’s US-based enterprise, United Coal Company (UCC).
