Metinvest Restores Railway Transport at Northern Iron Ore
An overhauled 2ТE10M twin-unit mainline diesel locomotive returned to Northern Iron Ore after its major overhaul. The locomotive is back in service carrying rock mass in Pershotravnevyi quarry.Over a span of more than three years, the locomotive was at the Daugavpils Locomotive Repair Plant undergoing a major overhaul. All key components and assemblies of the two units (No. 98-99) were restored to the nameplate specifications. The performance parameters and lifespan of all components were restored, extending the service life of the locomotive by another six years. To ensure its reliable operation, the functionality of the main and auxiliary equipment, including the main diesel generator, traction electric motors, two-unit assembly, and small power electric motors, was restored.
