During the full-scale war, Metinvest has remained a pillar of the country's economy. Including associated companies and joint ventures, the Group increased its tax and duty payments to budgets at all levels in Ukraine by 38% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching UAH 15.2 billion in the first nine months of 2024.Among the largest contributions, subsoil usage fees increased 2.8-fold compared to Q1-Q3 2023, reaching UAH 4.2 billion. The Group also increased its unified social contribution payments by 16% to UAH 2.8 billion. As part of the 2024 overhaul program, important equipment of the 400/200 mill was restored at Kamet-Steel.The staged major overhaul crossed its key milestone, during which the repairmen focused their efforts primarily on the equipment of the reheating furnace and the line of rolling stands.The main tasks were successfully completed – ten water-cooled heating racks of the furnace were replaced with the simultaneous replacement of pipelines. Also, the specialists of Zaporizhvognetryv restored the refractory lining of nine ten-meter horizontal racks, which play a key role in the process of cooling water exchange. Ukrainian metallurgy is geared towards exporting civilian products. But a large-scale Russian offensive has forced it to master production for the military. Metinvest Group has launched the production of mine trawls and protective screens for armoured vehicles. For security reasons, military production is set up at separate sites that are outside of the production facilities of the enterprises. The Group supplies its products to the army free of charge as part of its contribution to the defence of Ukrainian cities.
